Dr. Toni Varela is a Licensed Naturopathic Doctor dedicated to guiding you on your path to optimal health and wellness. She treats a wide variety of health conditions and offers services for every age, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Dr. Varela has a strong interest in environmental medicine and an in-depth knowledge of the effects that common environmental contaminants and toxins have on our health and beauty.

· Teen and Children’s health including acute or chronic infections, eczema, behavioral issues and food and environmental allergies; digestive disorders.
· Seniors’ concerns, including chronic and acute pain, insomnia, cardiovascular disease, cancer and healthy aging.
As well, she offers specific corporate group and individual programs for stress reduction, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, addiction cessation, nutritional counseling, Type II diabetes management, weight management and detoxification.
Dr. Varela’s practice philosophy is based on a commitment to providing her patients with the knowledge they need to fully participate in their own healthcare. Dr. Varela attained her doctorate from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM), a 4-your accredited naturopathic medical school, involving two years of basic sciences followed by two years of clinical internship. Dr. Varela’s passion to explore the multitude of factors that can affect health is deeply rooted in her graduate and undergraduate experiences at Columbia University in New York and the University of California, Los Angeles, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Cultural Anthropology studies. She has also travelled extensively and has had the opportunity to work in Peru, where she performed research on adolescent pregnancy and thereafter implemented a successful adolescent pregnancy prevention program. She also has had the opportunity to speak at numerous institutions of USA and Europe to diverse communities on natural therapies for women’s health, eating disorders, and chronic disease. This extensive experience has given her in-depth knowledge into the effects that our intrinsic and environmental contaminants have on our health and the role they play in many diseases.
Dr. Varela specializes in bio-identical hormone therapy, nutrition and herbal medicine. She is certified in advanced injection therapies such as Intravenous Therapy, biopuncture, and offers specialized treatments such as chelation therapy. As part of her clinical training, Dr. Varela performed research and trained in New York Presbyterian Hospital’s Emergency Room and interned at True North Health Center in Santa Rosa, CA, a water fast clinic, working with patients to help improve their quality of life, decrease the side effects of their medications and help keep their immune systems in balance via water fasting, no SOS (salt, oil, sugar) nutrition, and natural therapies.
Her values include an integrative approach to health, through preventative medicine, acute and chronic care and individualized treatment. As a primary care doctor, she believes it is her duty to spend adequate time with each patient and to listen, educate and tailor each visit according to your needs, encouraging you to take an active role in your health. She is happy to work with your other health care practitioners to provide you with the most well rounded, best care possible.
In addition to naturopathic medicine and the environment, Dr. Varela has a passion for outdoor fitness and international cuisine. She is an avid hiker, runner, and international street food and festival fanatic. She is a member of the California Naturopathic Doctors’ Association and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
